This Thursday Morris voters can start casting ballots for a new mayor.
The early voting will be held Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the court house in Okmulgee.
On the ballot are Nicholas Jindra, Joe Berryhill and Greg Foreman. The winner will fill out the unexpired mayor’s term of office. That post opened last summer when Jeremy Avery resigned.
County election board secretary Ashley Carnes said early voting will only be at the court house and not the polling locations. The polls will open Tuesday, Nov. 14 for voting.
“You do not need to provide an excuse to vote early. Oklahoma allows early voting for all elections conducted by the County Election Board or State Election Board—from school board and municipal elections to state and federal elections. This is a great option for those who will be out of town on Election Day or who want to avoid long lines,” Carnes said.
