Richard Earl Ward, 81, a resident of Claremore, died Jan. 6, 2024 in Claremore. He was born in Henryetta May 25, 1942, to Flora Lee (Jones) and Felix Ward.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Lilly, Jeffrey, Alicia Jones and Claude V. Ward
Richard attended Henryetta High School and afterward would enter the Army. Upon completion of his service, he returned to his roots in Henryetta where he embarked on a career with the City of Oklahoma, showcasing his remarkable abilities as a welder.
He leaves behind his daughter, Billie Ward; a sister, Flora Anglin and her husband Jim of Broken Arrow; and a cherished assembly of nieces, nephews.
Richard was the epitome of creativity, kindness, and generosity. Those who knew him will forever cherish the legacy he leaves behind-an enduring reminder that a life well-lived is one adorned with acts of selflessness and an immense capacity for love.
Visitation is scheduled 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024 at Integrity Funeral Service.
