Howard Lee Vaughn, Henryetta, died Jan. 25, 2024 at the age of 69. He was born in Henryetta, Aug. 7, 1954, to Basil and Hazel Vaughn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Tony, Ernest, Charles, and Glen Vaughn.
He is survived by his loving wife Cheri Henry Vaughn of the home; three children, Chad and wife Sarah of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Jimbo and wife Jessica of Mason and Ginny Vaughn and Paul Walker of Haydenville; three sisters, Carolyn and Joe Peavler of Henryetta, Anna and Hank Williams, Jr. of Graham, and Beth Vaughn-Winn of Henryetta; three brothers, Jerry Vaughn and wife Sivil of Henryetta, Roger Vaughn of Henryetta, and David Vaughn and wife Patsy of Henryetta; sisters-in-laws Pat Vaughn of Okemah, Lorri Henry Hudson of Bryant, Merri Henry Williams, and husband Chris and his Aunt Fern Vaughn of Newton, Kansas; grandchildren: Ashtin McCune, Braydn Vaughn, Rowdy Vaughn, Roxi Tiger, Harley Vaughn, and Avery and Wyatt Walker; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews, as well as great-great nieces and nephews.
Howard retired from Anchor Glass Container in 2016 after 39 ½ years. For many years, he broke and trained 2-year-old horses he found all over Oklahoma. His Rocking V brand marks some very desirable horses.
Serving as pallbearers for his final ride will be Chad Vaughn, Jimbo Vaughn, Ginny Vaughn, Ashtin McCune, Braydn Vaughn and Dee Ogle.
