Margaret Lou Wainwright, a lifelong Morris resident, died March 29, 2024 in Morris at the age of 88. Margaret was born to Juanita Wells Vaughan and Herman Wells Aug. 28, 1935, in Nuyaka.
She married Malcomb Wainwright whom she met at Tulsa Bible College, June 19, 1955 in Morris.
She was a member of the Dewar United Pentecostal church. Margaret and her husband fostered over 30 children. Margaret also worked in the Okmulgee Memorial Hospital for several years, and then left the hospital and went to work in the Spanish ministry alongside with her husband. Margaret and Malcomb spent 1979 to 1980 in the Spanish Ministry work at Landmark Tabernacle in Denver, Colorado. They also did many years of Spanish missionary Work from 1981 to 1999.
Margaret traveled alongside her husband Malcomb doing Spanish mission work which included Alamosa, Colorado Parker, Arizona and Guadalajara, Mexico.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Malcomb Wainwright; mother Juanita Wells Vaughn; father, Herman Wells; stepfather, Cecil Vaughan; brothers David Vaughan and Dewain Vaughan and wife Francis, Dathan Vaughan and wife Zula; sister, Lavita Brill, and brother Dathan Vaughan and wife Zula.
Survivors include two sons: Steve Wainwright and wife, Sophia Of Edmond, and Mark Wainwright and wife, Prissy of Cane Ridge, Tennessee; brother Gerald Wells of Glenpool; sister, Sandy Edgemon and husband Rick, of Fort Smith, Arkansas; brother-in-law, Donald Brill of Morris; grandchildren: Stephanie Martin and husband, Stoney of Okmulgee Ashley Sadeghi and husband AJ Of Edmond, Maci Anderson-Wainwright and husband Will of Nolensville, Tennessee; great grandchildren: Remy Martin, Tripp Martin, Lakely Martin of Okmulgee Rigby Sadeghi and Stevie Sadeghi of Edmond, Nathan Anderson-Wainwright, Coraline, Anderson-Wainwright Archie Anderson-Wainwright of Nolensville , Tennessee; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends ...
The family will receive family and friends Thursday evening April 4, 2024 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Integrity Funeral Service, Henryetta. At Margaret's request, the casket will remain closed.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2024 at the Dewar United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Matthew Martin officiating. Intermittent will follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
Casket-bearers include;, Steve Wainwright, Mark Wainwright, Stoney Martin, AJ Sadeghi, Remy Martin, Tripp Martin, and Kevin Brill.
