A disc golfer from Utah took the top honors in the mens open division at the fifth annual Henryetta Shootout Saturday. The event was held at Nichols Park.
Despite the windy conditions that faced the 133 participants, Levi Hancock finished the course with 16-under par for first place. Brandon Cawthorne from Broken Arrow was second with 10-under.
Larry Gardner, Oklahoma City, was the only contestant in the men’s mixed pro 40+ to come in under par. He took first with six-under for a 116 total. Brett Yackeschi, Tuttle, and Yasha Koman, Broken Arrow, tied for second with even par totals of 122.
In the women’s pro 40+ Melissa Lawrence from Slaughterville, was first.
Dewar’s Samantha Russell was the first place winner in the Women’s amateur 50+.
Another local player, Matthew Hicks, Dewar, won the mixed amateur 3 division.
Yahoo Sanders, Okmulgee was the mixed amateur 4 winner.
Over $4,000 went to the winners at the conclusion of the day’s tournament.
