Michael Denny Hold, a long time resident of Henryetta, died April 28, 2024, in Tulsa at the age of 82. He was born July 31, 1941, in Tulsa, to Frankie S. and Juanita Marilyn (Watson) Hold.
Denny graduated from Henryetta high schoolwith the class of 1959. He briefly attended Oklahoma State University before proudly serving his country in the United States Navy on the USS Shelton DD790 as a sonarman during the Vietnam Era. Once discharged, he returned to his Oklahoma roots, attending Tulsa Welding School. Denny worked for the Muscogee Creek Nation as a housing inspector and later with Anchor Glass in Henryetta, as a Maintenance Electrician until his retirement. He served on the Henryetta City Council and stayed actively involved in the community serving as the Commander of the American Legion. He also held membership in the VFW, NRA and the DAV. Denny married Rebecca Osmond May 16, 2008, in Van Buren, Arkansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Hold of Henryetta; sons Terry Louis Hold of Dustin and Justin Michael Hold, also of Dustin; brother, Terry Ronald Hold from Dewar; stepdaughter Shelly Harris and her husband Michael of Tulsa; step-grandchildren, Andrew Michael Harris and wife Savannah, Madeline Michelle Harris, and Matthew Grant Harris; tep-great grandson, Lucas Andrew Harris; numerous nieces, cousins, and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held Monday, May 13, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Integrity Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend David Shahan officiating. Inurnment will follow the service at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta with military honors provided by the United States Navy Honors Team.
