BIDEN STEPS DOWN FROM THE RE-ELECTION BID
Joe Biden the 46th president of United states has officially ended his re-election campaign and in do so also endorsed Vice-President Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate, dramatically reshaping the race for the White House. In a written statement, Joe Biden, called serving “the greatest honor” but said him stepping down was “in the best interest of the party and the nation.”
Regardless of staying on as president until January, his decision follows a disruptive period marked by the debate against Donald Trump.
Harris expressed her honor for the endorsement and promised to unite the country and win against the former President Donald J Trump. She is now trying to gather endorsements and campaign funding ahead of the Democratic National Convention in August.
In the meantime, Donald J Trump, having escaped an assassination attempt, was confirmed with a big majority as the Republican nominee at the GOP convention in Milwaukee. Trump criticized Biden as unfit to serve, with senior Republicans echoing calls for Biden to leave office immediately.
