Rob Finnerty: Why hasn’t anybody brought that up yet? When are we going to get a thorough look at what’s going on?
Lankford: Well I would tell you, it’s as simple as having hearings at all has been the challenge. I pushed on the Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, who’s a Democrat Chairman, yesterday even to say, ‘When is the hearing going to happen in the Senate?’ The House is having hearings. They’re asking the hard questions. They’re actually bringing Secret Service and FBI in front of them. The Senate still refuses to do that. We had a classified hearing after the Butler, Pennsylvania time period where we had the opportunity to be able to ask some questions. We need another hearing to be able to push, to be able to say, ‘What’s the next step here to be able to make sure that this does not happen again and we’re getting all the details out.’ That’s not an unreasonable request when there’s an assassination attempt on the former president of the United States and current leading Republican candidate.
