Virgil David Lee, a lifelong resident of Henryetta, Oklahoma, passed away on January 23, 2025, in Henryetta at the age of 64. He was born on June 9, 1960, in Henryetta to Virgil Lee Sr. and Pearlie Wright Lee.
Virgil worked as a maintenance foreman, dedicating his career to ensuring the smooth operation of his workplace. His commitment and leadership were valued by those who worked alongside him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Pearlie Lee; brothers Frankie Norton and Andy Ray Lee Sr.; sister Rosa Lee; uncles Junior Vaughn and Bob Lee; and aunts Mildred Vaughn and Janet Lee.
Virgil is survived by his loving wife, Patty Lee, of the home; daughters Brandy Harris and husband Josh of Henryetta, and Christina Lee of Arizona; sons Chris Lee, Artie Rivera, and Levi Rivera of Arizona; special niece Amanda Lee of Henryetta; sisters Shirley Lee of Arizona, Cindy Brown and husband Buddy of Henryetta, Jamie Bailey and husband Brian of Henryetta, and Donna Lee of Okmulgee; brothers Pat Crewse and Juan Aguilar of Arizona; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Sara Taylor, a lifelong resident of Henryetta, Oklahoma, passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 40. She was born on August 27, 1984, in Henryetta to Ronnie Walker Taylor and Peggy Sue (Renfro) Taylor.
Sara worked in the food industry throughout her life, bringing warmth and kindness to every role she held. From working at gas stations to being a hostess at Shoney’s, her genuine love for people shone through in her interactions. Though she aspired to become a registered nurse, her journey was impacted by juvenile diabetes. Despite this challenge, Sara’s compassionate spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ronnie Walker Taylor; her maternal grandparents, Harold and Gloria Renfro; and her paternal grandparents, Claud and Gertrude Taylor.
Sara is survived by her two beloved children, Ashtyn Baylee Taylor-Wilbourn and Jackson Walker Taylor, both of Henryetta; her mother, Peggy Sue (Renfro) Taylor of Henryetta; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind countless friends who cherished her deeply, including special friends April Ann Wilbourn, Jill Robertson, and Stephanie Davis.
Sara’s warm heart and enduring kindness will be remembered by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she touched throughout her life.
Celebration of life will be held Monday, January 20, 2025 at the Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ryan Wells, officiating. Services are under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.

Obituary for Andy Mayhan
Andy Joe Mahan a resident of Henryetta passed this life on January 8, 2025 at the age of 88. Born February 6, 1936 in Weleetka, OK to Ben and Maude (Moore) Mahan. Andy is a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church and taught Sunday School there for many years. He retired from Public Service Company (PSO) after 30 years of dedicated service. He also was a member of the IBEW Local 1002 where he served as the assistant business manager. He married Sondra Herron on June 11, 1972 in Okmulgee, OK.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ben and Maude Mahan; Son, Kevin Wayne Mahan; Granddaughter Caitlin Jones; Brothers Ben, Dean, Clifford and Kenneth Mahan and a sister Anita Wells
Survived by his wife Sondra of the home
Children: Belinda Kaye Ashley of Henryetta; Bobby Summers and wife Teresa of Nowata; and Kimberly Mahan of Henryetta
Grandchildren: Jason Ashley, Lacy Banks and Madison Taylor

Vernon Leroy Long, a lifelong resident of Henryetta, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on January 7, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on April 5, 1928, in Schulter, Oklahoma, he was the son of William Crayton Long Sr. and Josephine Catherine (Cobb) Long.
Jimmy “DOE” Roberts a resident of Henryetta, Ok passed this life on January 5, 2025 in Tulsa, Ok at the age of 73. Born March 2, 1951 in Henryetta, Ok to Willard and Anna (Ragland) Roberts. Doe was a carpenter and worked for Wayne Dickey for some 25 years. He also worked pipeline and was a member of the Local #112. Doe also served in his country during the Vietnam War doing two tours of duty with the US Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Brother Bill Roberts and a sister Phyllis Shultz.
Survived by his wife Carrie of the home.
Doe’s wishes were to be cremated and didn’t want any type of service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.

Margaret Ann (Freeman) Viersen passed this life on January 3, 2025 at the age of 82. Born July 14, 1942 in Weleetka, OK to William and Maudie (Henderson) Freeman. Margaret attended Wilson school where she excelled in basketball. She was named “All County Forward”, All Conference Forward 1958-59 and 1960, Won Junior High 8th and 9th grade All Conference, Basketball Queen 1959 and 1960 and the 8th grade all school princess. As a senior she was the senior play producer and director. Margaret also was an avid fan of Thunder Basketball and many other sports. She attended the Salem Baptist Church for many years and operated Viersen Oil and Gas Operations.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph “Sonny” Viersen, parents William and Maudie Freeman, and siblings; Hartsel Freeman, Gene Freeman, Calvin Freeman, Junior Freeman, Orville Freeman, Mary Ellis, Louise Orr, Judy Powell and James Freeman.
Survived by her children: Mark Shurden of Okmulgee; Todd Shurden of Henryetta; Shelly Minahan of Southlake, TX; and Susan Shurden and husband Russ Kroll of Okmulgee.
Grandchildren: Laryl and Shawn Wray of Hitchita; Russell and Lauren Henry of Edmond; Tucker and Brooke Shurden of Newcastle, OK; Calahan Henry of Stidham; Jonathan Minahan of Southlake, TX; Clara and Asher Carrasco of Southlake, TX; Stormy Shurden of Morris; Ann Kroll of Parker, Co and Sarah Kroll of Duran, NC
