Ron and Sue Bjorklund, residents of Grand Coulee Dam, Wash., stopped by the course to get in nine holes of play earlier this month.
The couple are working on a challenge to play courses in all 50 states and the Henryetta course is about the mid-point on their effort.Henryetta was selected in Oklahoma because the couple said it is similar to their home course.
"They said their course is maintained with an all-volunteer staff who groom and care for the 18 holes year round in much the same way as our club," said Gayle Machetta. She was told the membership prices and even layout of the Washington course is much like Henryetta's.
The couple finished their nine holes then started their journey to Arkansas and Tennessee. From there they will be going to both North and South Carolina.
"Both Ron and Sue were very complimentary of our efforts for our club and wished us well," Machetta said. "They said they would like to come back and hit the links here again."
