i 40 stuck
As if the combination of rain, holiday traffic and road construction were not enough, motorists along Interstate-40 had to contend with a semi-trailer accident Friday afternoon.
The single eastbound lane of the interstate was closed when a semi struck some concrete barriers in the work zone. The truck and trailer became wedged on another set of barriers forcing traffic to come to a standstill.
While the obstruction was being cleared away, many eastbound motorists got off on the west exit and drove through downtown Henryetta.
There were no injuries in the crash. Emergency units from Henryetta police and fire departments as well as Okmulgee County emergency Management and Oklahoma Highway Patrol controlled traffic.
