Charles Don Polston, a resident of Henryetta, died Dec. 15, 2015 in Tulsa at the age of 77. He was born May 4, 1938 in Henryetta to Charles W. Polston and Maxine (Holly) Polston.
He married Jeanie Harkins Nov. 9, 1957 at First United Methodist Church in Henryetta. Don worked with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, retiring after 20 years. He also retired from the Oklahoma State Department of Health after eight years. He worked with his father and also Jerry Vail in the electrical business for many years. Don was currently working as the Superintendent of the Henryetta Municipal Airport. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Henryetta also a 32nd Degree Mason with Tulledga Masonic Lodge.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Maxine Polston.
He is survived by his wife Jeanie of the home; four children: Julie Dill of Edmond, Jill Coleman of Henryetta, Chip Polston of Tampa, Florida, Mike Polston of Henryetta; nine grandchildren: Daniel Dill and wife Darci of El Reno, Justin Dill and wife Kara of Oklahoma City, Blake Coleman and wife Candice of Henryetta, Chase Polston of Tampa, Florida, Sami Lewis and husband Mike of Littleton, Colorado, Colby Polston and Chris Whitlow of Tulsa, Joe Polston of Tampa, Florida, Marissa Stuckey and husband Adam of Oklahoma City, Mayson Polston and Nolen Mathieu of Henryetta; four great grandchildren; brother: Ken Polston and wife Jeanie of Tulsa; as well as a host of friends and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Don's grandsons, Daniel Dill, Justin Dill, Blake Coleman, Chase Polston, Mike Lewis, Adam Stuckey, Chris Whitlow, and Nolen Mathieu. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of The First United Methodist Men's Bible Class, Dave Martin, Mickey Osmond, Dale James, and Tab Rounds.
At Don's own request, the casket will remain closed.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 18, 2015 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Kyle Kiner and Rev. Jack Vance officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
