With all the dry vegetation, fires are on a lot of people’s minds.  There have recently been enough fires to keep a large amount of fire fighters busy that is for sure.  Without these people working relentlessly for our safety we would be in serious trouble.  I personally would like to express my sincere appreciation for all the hours these individuals put in year around to keep these departments functional.  I think they are taken for granted most of the time until their services are needed by someone.  It is easy to forget all the work that is done to keep things going.  Thank you for your dedication!
I know many of these departments could use more volunteers.  There are various ways a person can help a department.  If you have an interest in helping your community, please get in touch with any of these volunteer departments.  Fresh faces and new ideas are always something nice to see and the feeling you get from helping others is indescribable, not to mention the comradery you are sure to enjoy.
