Okmulgee County property owners have until March 31 to pay the final half of their ad valorem taxes.
County treasurer Vonna Lampkins said a 1.5 percent per month penalty will be added to the tax bill for all unpaid balances after that date. If a person has not paid any part of the taxes, the additional penalty fee will start from january 1, 2016.
"If a person has a question about their taxes, they should call our office at 918-756-3848," she said. Any payments received on balances that have penalties but those penalty amounts are not included, will be returned.
People needing a mobile home decal or receipt should enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope with their payment.
