Sondra Kaye Hamm, a longtime resident of Henryetta, died April 9, 2016 in Henryetta at the age of 72. Sondra Kaye was born Jan. 1, 1944 in Henryetta to Samuel Lewis and Dimpel Loyd Lewis. She grew up in Henryetta, attending St. Michaels School and Henryetta Public Schools. Following high school Sondra Kaye began her lifetime of experiences including job positions as a waitress, as a clerk in a hat store and a glove store, for a manufacturer of bomb parts, and as a flag car driver.
Sondra married the love of her life, David Hamm Sr., Feb. 13, 1960. David was a long haul trucker and Sondra often drove a flag car in advance of his truck.
Sondra Kaye was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, David Hamm Sr.; her son, Sam Hamm; and her sister, Linda Williams.
She is survived by her son, David Hamm, Jr. and wife Anita of Palestine, Tex.; daughter-in-law, Sissy Story and husband Rocky of Henryetta; grandchildren: Miracle Story of Henryetta, Brian Hamm and fiancee Casey Cummings of Henryetta, Amanda Hamm and fiancee Randy Rowan of Henryetta; Andrea Ivins of Palestine, Tex., Amber Bernauer of Indiana, and Kaitlin Gehrung of Spring, Tex.; great granddaughters: LIlli Rowan of Henryetta; Rylee Ivins of Palestine, and Ariel Bernauer of Indiana; a sister, Becky Lee of Henryetta.
Viewing for Sondra Kaye will be held Monday, April 11, 2016 at Integrity Funeral Service from 4 until 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Integrity Chapel with Rev. Dale Huckabee officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
