A free training session for merchants and employees who sell or serve alcohol or 3.2 beer will be held Friday afternoon.
According to Margaret Black at OSU Prevention Programs, the session will be held at the Panter Building on the Green Country Technology Center starting at 1 p.m.
“The Prevention of Youth Access to Alcohol Act is a state law that protects youth from the harmful effects of alcohol use by making it illegal to provide or sell alcohol or low point beer to anyone under the age of 21," Black said.  "This law is continually being enforced by law enforcement agencies. If this harmful substance is sold to a person under the legal age, the contributor will face legal consequences consisting of an expensive citation, possible jail time, and/or felony charges."
The training is open to sellers and servers include store clerks, restaurant wait staff, bartenders, managers, employers, and owners of any alcohol vender located in Okmulgee County. The training will also provide important tips on how and why it is important to implement safe practices when selling alcohol and 3.2 beer.
