After a lot of planning and numerous delays, the splash pad at McCutcheon Park went into full swim Monday morning.
pad openingEven with a light drizzle and dese overcast, there were several children who decided to enjoy this latest addition to Henryetta recreation.
Mayor Jennifer Clason, along with several present and former city council members and city employees pushed the button turning on the water.
"The commitment by city employees and contractors have made it possible for us to complete a landmark quality of life improvement today," she said. "This is an exciting day for Henryetta and I can't wait to see the enjoyment this splash pad brings to all."splashing

She went on to thank former councilman Henry Koelzer for bringing the splash pad idea to the Henryetta Economic Development Authority. She went on to express appreciation to interim city manager Donna White and public works director Ron Casey for their help.
The new facility will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
A bathroom facility was also opened at the park. Last week, city workers installed two new basketball backboards and nets, replacing a pair of worn-out and broken ones.
