July 29 is the deadline for anyone wishing to register to vote or change their registration.
Election board secretary Ashley Carnes said registration or changes can be made by filling out and mailing or bringing an application form to her office. Mailed forms must be postmarked no later than midnight, Friday, July 29.
Voters will be casting ballots on the democratic side for State Representative, District 16 candidates Anna Dearmore and Ronnie Kell.
Neither received more than 50 percent of the votes at the June 28 primary election.
Carnes said only registered democrat and independent voters will be able to cast ballots in that election.
The town of Dewar has called for a non-partisan Special Election to be held August 23, 2016. Registered voters in the Town of Dewar will be voting on a franchise proposition for the Public Service Company of Oklahoma. All registered voter in the Town of Dewar are eligible to vote in the non-partisan Special Election regardless of party.
Oklahoma Voter Registration Application forms are available at the County Election Board office located at 314 W. 7th Street, Okmulgee County Courthouse, room 102, and at most post offices, tag agencies and public libraries in the county. Applications also are available at www.elections.ok.gov.
