Violet Jimmilee Burke (Kellogg) died Jan. 18, 2019, at the age of 72. She was born on March 8, 1947 in Henryetta to James Washington Kellogg and Bessie Minerva Kellogg. She graduated Wilson High School in 1965 and married Thomas James “Jimmy” Burke of Henryetta May 8, 1965. She was a graduate of the Oklahoma School of Business and began working for Shell Oil Company shortly after her graduation. In 1970 she gave birth to Thomas James Burke Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Irl J.W. Kellogg, Ferrill Kellogg, Charles “Chuck” Eugene Kellogg, Jerry Don “Sonny” Kellogg, and Mirl Ray Kellogg. She was also proceeded in death by her sister Sondra Kay “Sissy” (Kellogg) Smock and her husband Jimmy in 2014.
She is survived by her son, Thomas James Burke, Jr. and his wife, Melanie Burke of Bixby; sisters Pat Manos and Judy Holden; as well as nieces and nephews whom she loved as if they were her own children.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m, Friday, Jan. 25 at Dewar First Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Vance officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Griffin, Kelly Griffin, Rusty Kellogg, Bobby Smock, Larry Holden and Bobby Bryan.
At the request of the family the casket will remain closed, however, friends may visit the funeral home during regular hours to sign the register book.
