Betty Jane Sisson, a longtime former resident of the Dewar-Henryetta community, died Jan. 25, 2019 in Stillwater at the age of 89. She was born Dec. 14, 1929 in Dewar to Ted Wade and Ida Belle (Rutledge) Wade.
Betty was a graduate of Dewar High School and later married Jimmie S. Sisson. She moved from her home in rural Henryetta to be near her daughter and spent the remainder of her time there.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jimmie, a sister, Delores Dillard and a brother, Ray Wade.
She is survived by a daughter, Debora Hull and husband Jim of Stillwater; granddaughter, Alison VanMalak and husband Kyle of Oxnard, Calif.; two sisters, Geraldine Mordecai of Henryetta and Frances Thompson and husband Ralph of Henryetta; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Betty was a very private person and at her request the casket remained closed and a private burial was at New Sonora Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
