It took city council members about 15 seconds Tuesday to approve some $9,000 to rebuild a pump at the sewer plant.
A special meeting was held to authorize the repair charges since it was over the maximum spending limit authorized for public works director Ron Casey.
The pump is required at the main lift station to keep raw sewage from flowing into Coal Creek. Casey said this was the first time that the pump needed repairs since it was installed over 10 years ago.
