Marguerite Gillispie died Feb. 21, 2020 in Okmulgee at the age of 90. Marguerite was born to Roy and Ione McGill on December 9th, 1929 in Lamesa, Tex. She was a 1947 graduate of Seminole High School and a 1951 graduate of West Texas AandM. She married her best friend, Jackie, June 23, 1955, and remained married to him 9 days shy of 61 years when he passed in 2016. Marguerite made her living as a school teacher and partner and “supervisor” to Jackie in their many ventures. Marguerite is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother, Joe, and her brother and sister-in-law, Eldon and Maxine Sanders.
Marguerite is survived by her beloved feline, Missy; eldest son: Jackie Don Gillispie, and wife, Cheryl, of Andrews, Tex.; youngest son Bob Gillispie, and wife Jana, and their family of Ferris, Tex.; daughter: Janna Duggan of Henryetta; granddaughter: Ericka Carter, her husband, Bill, and daughter, Maddie, of Henryetta; granddaughter: Stacey Splawn and husband, David, and their children, Parker, Jack, Sam and Clark, of Marshall, Tex.; grandson: Kelly Max Duggan and Tember Hopkins of New York City, NY; granddaughter: Lauren Gudgel and husband, Richard, and daughters, Amelia and Eloise, of Andrews; son-in-law: Kenny Duggan of Midland, Tex.; daughter-in-law: Pat Cheel, of Waco, Tex.; sister-in-law, Sandra McGill, of Seminole, Tex.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020 at the Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
