Those attending the Henryetta Chamber of Commerce banquet Monday night were able to get more insight into the Highway to Henryetta festival set June 11 at Nichols Park.
Tony Fay, CEO of Dallas-based Tony Fay Public Relations, said he was approached by Troy Aikman last year who said he wanted to give something to Henryetta.
:He said he wanted to provide some great entertainment and raise money for the community.”
Fay said in addition to Blake Sheldon, the festival will have 12 bands performing with two stages for the day-long event. Those stages will be located on the north side of the park facing the rodeo arena.
“Our hope is it becomes an annual event and want it to be one of the premiere music festivals in America,” he said.
Fay praised the venue site. “You have an unbelievable amenity in Nichols Park. It is a beautiful backdrop.”
He went on to say, “Troy is excited about this. I have never seen him so hands on. He called at lease once a week about this.”
Ticket sales started last week and Fay said there are some general admission tickets still available.
He encouraged anyone attending to come early pointing out on-site parking is limited. The event will start at 10 a.m. and will include food and drink vendors.
Tickets are available online through the Highway to Henryetta website, https://highwaytohenryetta.com or his firm’s website, https://www.tonyfaypr.com.
Asked about local vendors, Fay said they will be taking applications and have a concession organizer that will look at them.
More information will be released about the concert in coming weeks and he encouraged everyone to visit the website or the social media pages.
