Roy D Dodson, a resident of Dewar, died July 1, 2015 in Henryetta at the age of 64. He was born Oct. 9, 1950 in Henryetta to George Dodson and Thelma (Ross) Dodson.
Roy was a veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict serving with the United States Army. He served from 1969 until 1971 in Viet-Nam, and was discharged in 1973. Roy was in heavy equipment sales. He married his wife Lisa Sept. 20, 2008 in Dewar.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Thelma Dodson, one brother, Carld Dodson, three sisters, Joyce Shaw, Doris Green, and Opal Cole. Also by a nephew, Ronnie Dean Robinson.
Roy is survived by his wife Lisa of the home in Dewar; five children: Terre Eckhardt and husband Matt of Davis Junction, Ill., Ryan Dodson of Depue, Ill., John Capps of Dallas, Allen Capps of Dewar and Zachary Capps and wife Bridget of Las, Vegas, Nevada; two grandchildren: Hunter Eckhardt of Illinois and Oscar Capps of Las Vegas; one brother: Jimmy Dodson and wife Diane of Illinois; one sister: Ethel Locatelli of Texas; also by nieces, nephews, a host of friends and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be, Jerry Robinson, Billy Robinson, Danny Harrison and Ricky Silkwood. Honorary pallbearers will be, Dave Johnson and Tommy Silkwood.
Viewing will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, July 6, 2015 at Integrity Chapel with Rev. David Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
