Bessie Fay Ennis, a Schulter resident, died July 19, 2022 at the age of 90. She was born March 22, 1932 in Weleetka to Homer and Emma Adline (Gage) Reid. Bessie married Lee Ennis on December 30, 1950 in Pharoah.
After graduating high school, Bessie attended Draughon’s Business College. Through the years she worked at Oshes Packing Plant in Okmulgee, Pharoah Sewing Factory, Okmulgee Peanut Plant, Montgomery Wards and Otasco both in Okmulgee until she became disabled in 1991. She was a active member, deacon’s wife and treasurer for a total of 65 years; first at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Okmulgee and presently at Grovania Free Will Baptist Church. She was also an Eastern Star.
She is preceeded in death by her husband Lee Ennis; both her mother, Emma Reid and father, Homer Reid; brothers: Havner Reid, Olen Reid, Cecil Reid; and sisters: Ruth Ford, her twin, Jessie Morris, and Emma Jean Morris.
Bessie is survived by daughter Bonita Frederick and husband Richard of Schulter; son Roger Ennis of Schulter; daughter Ranee Cline and husband Joey of Morris; sisters: Dortha Chunn, Margie Ennis, Mary Sue Upton and Ida Casey; brothers: Henry Reid and wife Joyce, Fred Reid and wife Wilma; granddaughters: Codi (Frederick) and husband Dan Ashinhurst of Jenks, Beth (Ennis) and husband Cory Ramos of Schulter, Krysta (Cline) Robinson and Kyle Stange of Morris and Becca Ennis of Schulter; grandsons: R. Dale Frederick and wife Jamie (Johnson) of Okmulgee, Joshua Ennis and Nikki Walsworth of Indiana, Steven Cline of Morris, Jacob (Ennis) Carter of Coweta; great grandchildren: Olivia, Owen, Sophie, Connor, KayLee, Rhyan, Bella, Tielar, Alexis, Aniyah,Addalyn, Arizona, Anislee, Isaac, Reese, Max and Jack.
Viewing for Bessie will be Friday, July 22, 2022 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Grovania Free Will Baptist Chruch, 1205 North 230 Road, Okmulgee with Reverend Thomas Jamison. Burial will follow the service at Salt Creek Cemetery in the Wilson Community.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Dale Frederick, Joshua Ennis, Steven Cline, Jacob Ennis Carter, Daniel Ashinhurst and Cory Ramos.
