Red, white and blue decorations inside and out provided enough approval to make The Shack V2 the winner of the Chamber of Commerce store decoration contest this past week. Photos of the downtown stores were posted to the Chamber of Commerce Facebook page and the public voted with the LIKE button for their favorites. According to Genny Mooney, the next contest will be for Halloween. "Thats far enough away that every business owner will have time to develop a theme and get all the decorations they need," she said.

The Fourth of July is traditionally a time for picnics and family fun and that was the efforts at Edward Jones for their holiday decorations. The scenes in both windows were enticing enough to give the company second place in the Chamber of Commerce window decoration contest.

The price of independence often comes with a cost and the service of America's military. Those serving over the years were honored by First Family Federal Credit Union in the Chamber of Commerce window decoraton contest earlier this month. The elaborate display wound up garnering enough votes to give the financial institution third place in the overall judging. As a side note, First Family donated the winning money to the Henryetta VFW.
