Hitchita resident Ron Jenkins got the surprise of his life Monday when he went to LUV Ford.
Jenkins said he was told that he was the winner of a promotion the dealership held but had no idea that he would be picking up a check for $10,000.
LUV Ford dealer Brad Nash said the promotion was in the form of flyers mailed out to Henryetta area residents several weeks ago. That promotion would have amounted to $20,000 to one individual.
Unfortunately the $20,000 entry form that had been traced to a person living within a five block area from downtown Henryetta, was not redeemed.
“We decided to make sure there was a big winner so we held a drawing from the names of those who did show up,” said Nash. “That drawing wound up with Jenkins’ name being pulled from the stack.
“The $20,000 ticket is probably in the trash can of someone and Ron is saying thanks to the person who threw it away.”
