After perfect weather Saturday, disc golf tournament players battled cold, wet conditions Sunday to finish up the state tournament at Nichols Park.official dist
With over $4,000 in prize money at stake for the professional divisions, the 200 contestants made their way around the park,.
At the end of the day, Matt Bell, a New Jersey resident, went 15-under par for first in the mixed pro open. He was followed by Brandon Cawthorne from Broken Arrow in second.
In the women’s pro open, Edmond’s Lindsey Manley went +21 for first.
Contestants from all over Oklahoma as well as Kansas, Wyoming, Texas and Colorado participated in the event During the day Saturday, several small contests were held including longest throw, closest to the pin and even a small disc contest.
“Everyone loves to play the Henryetta course, said Jason Schwake, tournament director. “This is one of the top courses in the state and I see this tournament just getting bigger each year.”
