Motorists along Interstate 40 will have to deal with a major construction project starting Oct. 1.
i 40Some seven miles of I-40 and part of US 75B is going to be reworked according to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
The work will start at the west end of Henryetta and is expected to take about a year to complete. It will include replacing the pavement as well as reconstruction of all the bridges. One overpass spanning a now-abandoned rail line is expected to be eliminated.
DUIT Construction company out of Edmond was awarded the $15,602 million bid in July.
The contractor is gong to have an office and construction plant west of Cowboy Corner.
