Dewar Dragon standout Damian Smith has officially signed to further both his education and football career at McPherson College this fall.

Smith has been an integral part of Dewar’s powerhouse athletic program, contributing to an impressive three state titles this school year. His accomplishments extend across multiple sports, including 8-Man Powerlifting, OCPA State Powerlifting (Class B), and Football (Class B2). Individually, he finished second in the 8-Man State Meet and third in the OCPA State Meet in 2025.

His journey as a Dewar Dragon began in the first grade, and for the past 12 years, he has proudly worn the team’s jersey. Smith’s athletic talent and leadership on the field earned him prestigious honors, including 8-Man All-Star selection and a spot on the 1st Team Offense All-District (B-4).

Smith’s next chapter will take him to McPherson College, a private institution located in McPherson, Kansas, about 50 miles north of Wichita. The McPherson Bulldogs compete at the NAIA level in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Division II, offering Smith an opportunity to continue showcasing his skills at the collegiate level.

With a remarkable high school career behind him, Smith’s dedication and drive will no doubt make him a valuable asset to the Bulldogs’ football program. The Dewar community will be cheering him on as he takes this next step in his journey.
