Obituary For Minnie Jean Proctor-Cannon November 21 1941 — June 5 2026

Minnie Jean (Proctor) Cannon was born on November 21, 1941 in Hanna, OK. She passed away at her home in Hanna on June 5, 2026.

She was born to Andy and Judy (Lasley) Proctor and grew up on their home place in Vernon, OK. She attended Hanna Public School before attending and graduating from Haskell Institute. After Haskell she attended cosmetology school in Muskogee. She had four children, Jeffrey, Darrell, Judith Kay, and Richard.

She spent most of her career as a beautician in Tulsa, OK. She eventually settled down and married fellow Haskell alum Bill Cannon who saw her at a Haskell Reunion on the dance floor and said “that’s the one for me”. They lived in Pawhuska, OK among the Osages until his death in 2019.

Minnie was known for being polished and stylish. She always had her makeup done, her hair styled, and her nails painted. She enjoyed visits from her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids and reminiscing about the old days. She was known affectionately as Mema, the name given to her by her first grandchild Vince.

The family cherishes her final, peaceful years and appreciate those who helped care for her, including Angela and Madison Long who she loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents Andy and Judy (Lasley) Proctor, husband Bill Cannon, son Richard Proctor, brothers Bill Proctor and Luster Proctor, sister Linda McCoy and brother-in-law Melvin McCoy, sister Della Proctor, and nephew Keith McCoy.

She is survived by her children: Jeffrey Proctor of Okmulgee, OK, Darrell and Robin Proctor of Hanna, OK, and Judith Kay Proctor and Danny Speir of Hanna, OK; daughter-in-law Elaine Barnett of Broken Arrow, OK, brother Andrew and Tonya Proctor of Wilson, OK, sisters: Liza Proctor of Tulsa, OK and Lula Tansey of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren: Vince Proctor and Johnnie Sue Wesley of Okmulgee, OK, Jordan “Big” Proctor of Hanna, OK, Jesse Proctor of Glenpool, OK, Kelsey and Yonah Two Bears of Whittier, NC, Jonathan Cantrell of Tulsa, OK, Brian and Candace Barnett of Keifer, OK, Paige Proctor and Jeffrey Allen of Okmulgee, OK, Amberly and Jordan Sampson of Ardmore, OK, Darrell Ray and Flo Proctor of Hanna, OK, Dylan Proctor of Broken Arrow, OK, Jack Proctor of Broken Arrow, OK, and Adrianna Proctor of Okmulgee, OK; great-grandchildren: Peyton Proctor, Adrian Sebree, Lilly Kelley, Kayonna Proctor, Matthew Proctor, Evelyn Allen, Mila Allen, Quintin Allen, Kai Two Bears, Asher Two Bears, Callison Sampson, and one on the way; a host of nieces and nephews; and her Cannon family.

Visitation will be from 2-7 on Tuesday June 9th, 2026 at Integrity Funeral Home in Henryetta, OK.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026 at Weogufkee Indian Baptist Church in Hanna, OK with Brother Jordan Sampson officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Weogufkee Indian Baptist Church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Vince Proctor, Jesse Proctor, Darrell Proctor II, Dylan Proctor, Jack Proctor, and Peyton Proctor.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Jordan “Big” Proctor, Jonathan Cantrell, Adrian Sebree, Matthew Proctor, Kai Two Bears, Asher Two Bears, and Quintin Allen.
