Celebrating 20 Years of Excellence: Dewar Drama’s Mrs. Palmer
Dewar, OK – August 22, 2024
Dewar Schools has honored Mrs. Palmer, a dedicated drama teacher who has been shaping young minds and nurturing the arts for an impressive 20 years. Known for her passion and commitment, Mrs. Palmer has made a significant impact on her students, helping them build confidence and communication skills that will serve them throughout their lives.
Reflecting on her two decades at Dewar, Mrs. Palmer shares that her favorite part of teaching is “helping students improve their communication skills.” This is more than just a classroom goal—it’s a mission. Whether it’s encouraging a shy student to speak up or guiding a group through a challenging play, Mrs. Palmer’s influence extends far beyond the stage.
As the new school year begins, Mrs. Palmer is focused on further developing her students’ public speaking abilities, both in front of the classroom and through reading in front of elementary students. These skills are essential, not just for theater, but for life, and Mrs. Palmer is committed to ensuring her students leave her class with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently.
This year’s drama class includes a talented and enthusiastic group of students: Tayler Pierce, McKenzie Cantrell, Hunter Edwards, Bradley Guynes, Emma Guynes, Collin Hayes, Koty Lesley, Rodley Lesley, Maddison Robinson, Logan Sample, Hayden Stange, Katie Stange, Callie England, and Kalli Gaither. Together, they are working on exciting new projects that promise to engage and entertain the entire Dewar community.
As always, Mrs. Palmer’s influence is seen not only in the performances her students produce but in the way they carry themselves off the stage. Her dedication to her students’ growth, both as performers and as individuals, has earned her a special place in the hearts of the Dewar community. Indeed, it’s a great day to be a Dragon!
