Dewar Dragons to Receive State Championship Rings at All-Sports Banquet

The 2024–2025 Oklahoma 8-Man State Champion Dewar Dragon Football Team was honored at the  All-Sports Banquet on Tuesday, May 27, where players finally received their long-awaited state championship rings. The event was hosted by the Dragon Pride Booster Club and served as a celebration of a remarkable year of athletic success for Dewar High School.

In addition to their football state title, nine team members added another accolade to the school’s legacy by capturing the OCA Powerlifting State Championship—the program’s second consecutive title in that discipline. Of those nine, seven are graduating seniors, making the achievement even more meaningful as they close out their high school careers with an unprecedented three state championships in a single year.

Among them, Issac Powell stands out as a four-time state champion, having claimed back-to-back individual titles in the 220-pound weight class at the OCA Powerlifting Championships.

The football squad includes 13 seniors, four of whom have been teammates since first grade. To finish their high school journey with multiple titles is a historic milestone for both the athletes and the Dewar community.

The celebration doesn’t stop there. Four senior players have been selected to play in the 2025 OEMFCA All-Star Football Game, scheduled for June 21 in Miami, Oklahoma. More details about the game are available [here].

Tickets for the All-Sports Banquet are priced at $20 and can be purchased via the Dewar Dragon Booster Club Facebook page. Seating is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. While the football ring ceremony will take place during the banquet, a specific time has not been announced. A separate ring presentation for the powerlifting champions is expected at a later date.
