Dewar Middle School is excited to announce the appointment of Mrs. Leslie Jones as the new Middle School Principal. With a rich background in education and a passion for fostering student success, Mrs. Jones brings a wealth of experience to her new role.

Mrs. Jones is no stranger to the Dewar community, having previously served as Dewar’s Pre-K through 12th Grade Administrator and Senior English Teacher. Her deep commitment to education and student development has earned her a reputation as a dedicated and innovative educator.

In her new role as Principal, Mrs. Jones is focused on advancing the academic programs at Dewar Middle School and enhancing the overall experience for students. “I am thrilled to be stepping into this role at Dewar Middle School,” Mrs. Jones shared. “My goal is to make middle school a better experience for our students, with new and improved opportunities that will help them succeed.”

Mrs. Jones’s educational journey is impressive. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Northeastern State University and went on to complete her Master’s degree in Educational Administration at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Her career spans over seven years, during which she has held various roles including Assistant Principal and Pre-K through 12th Grade Administrator. Before joining Dewar, she served in educational roles at Claremore and Henryetta Public Schools.

Her passion for education is evident. “I have always wanted to work in the education system to help students reach their full potential,” Mrs. Jones explained. She also expressed a special love for the classroom, particularly for teaching math, which remains her favorite subject.

As the new school year begins, Mrs. Jones is filled with optimism and excitement. “This school year will be amazing,” she remarked. “The year has already gotten off to a great start, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Dewar Middle School. I am proud to be a Dragon!”

With Mrs. Jones at the helm, Dewar Middle School is poised for continued success and growth, and the entire community looks forward to seeing the positive impact she will have on students and staff alike.
