Henryetta recently became the center of attention as the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Oklahoma District kicked off its Season of Small Business™ campaign. The event, held today, November 22, 2024, highlighted the vibrant small business community in the city and encouraged residents to shop local during the holiday season.
SBA Oklahoma District Director Fernanda Pedraza-Schmitt led the initiative, joined by Genny Abbott Mooney, Director of the Henryetta Chamber of Commerce; Ashley Morris, President of the Henryetta Chamber of Commerce; Amber Mordecai, Head of Tourism; Jill Frances of the Henryetta Economic Development Authority (HEDA); Keith Estes, HEDA Chairman; David Bullard, Henryetta City Manager; among other distinguished local leaders and entrepreneurs. The day began at the Henryetta Chamber of Commerce and included a whirlwind tour of the city’s bustling small business scene.
From family-run jewelry shops and flower boutiques to cozy cafes and specialty markets, the businesses visited represented the diversity and creativity of Henryetta’s small business community. Among the stops today were familiar favorites like Caves Jewelry, Rheba’s Buds and Blooms, and Burnett’s Furniture, but the tour also ventured into other hidden gems, showcasing the city’s growing economic vibrancy.
Throughout the morning, shop owners shared their stories, demonstrating how community support fuels their success. SBA representatives emphasized the importance of Small Business Saturday, which will take place on November 30, 2024, as a way to extend this support into the holiday season and beyond.
Todays event brought the town together, with residents, local officials, and business owners participating in the celebration. The initiative was a reminder of the significant impact small businesses have on the local economy and the importance of shopping small to ensure their continued growth.
Henryetta’s enthusiastic embrace of the SBA’s campaign solidified its reputation as a dynamic community that champions its entrepreneurs and celebrates the power of local businesses.
