Henryetta, OK – When Kent Pharaoh, chairman of the American Exchange Bank in Henryetta, Oklahoma, first heard bagpipes as a child vacationing with family in Scotland, he says the sound “just hit me in the heart.” Pharaoh, whose grandparents immigrated to the United States from Scotland through Ellis Island in the early 1920s, says he promised himself he would learn to play the instrument—and he did!

Now a frequent performer, Pharaoh has dedicated himself to the art and plays for occasions far and wide including church worship services, anniversaries, funerals, school assemblies, and golf tournaments. On August 24, 2024, beginning at 1 p.m., he will be sending off golfers with a traditional Scottish tune at the SW Graduate School of Banking at SMU Cox (SWGSB) golf tournament at The Coeur d’Alene Golf & Spa Resort.

“It’s a privilege,” Pharaoh says. “This is a talent that I feel like the Lord gave me, and I love sharing it.”

Pharaoh is a frequent attendee of SWGSB’s nationally known programs. SWGSB’s 158th Assembly for Bank Directors is being held at The Coeur d’Alene Golf & Spa Resort August 22-25, 2024.
