The new fiscal year started out on a positive note for the city of Henryetta.

A check for $317,413.70 came to the city from the Oklahoma Tax Commission. That was a $20,718 increase from a year ago and continues the string of positive returns that started last October.

At the same time, the use tax remittance to the town amounted to $49594.46. It was also on the positive side, up $14,901 from last July. 

The monies represent local tax receipts from May business. Henryetta was one of only four area communities that reported a gain in
sales tax this month.

Also in the plus column was Okemah with $150767, up $23,236 from a year ago; Morris, $32,224, a gain of $6,963; and Eufaula, $295,486, a gain of $29,275.00

Dewar received $16,785, down $2,257 from last July;

Okmulgee, $681,179, a drop of $7,830;

Beggs, $42,409, down $3,008;

Checotah, $470,672, a drop of $19,894 from last  year; and

Weleetka, $17,220, down $427 from a year ago.

Statewide, that drop continued with $202,723,13 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflecting a decrease of $479,581 from the $203,202,715, distributed to them in June last year.
