The spirit of Christmas was alive and well at the Henryetta Civic Center as the 8th Annual Community Christmas Dinner welcomed hundreds of residents for an evening of togetherness, festive fun, and delicious food. The event, open to the public, drew in a crowd of over 290 people, proving once again that Henryetta’s heart shines brightest during the holiday season.
On The Menu:
With a menu featuring 16 turkeys, 60 pounds of mashed potatoes, hams, green beans, and an impressive array of desserts, cookies, and other treats, there was no shortage of holiday cheer on the table. All of this was made possible by the generosity of local volunteers who donated not just their time, but also the ingredients to make the feast possible.
“We couldn’t have done this without the community,” said one volunteer. “The outpouring of support was incredible. From donations to helping hands, everyone came together to make this a memorable night.”
The dinner wasn’t just about food. It was a night filled with entertainment for all ages. Santa Claus made a special appearance, delighting the kids with his jolly laugh and warm spirit. He even shared that he needed “a quick break from the North Pole” to enjoy the holiday cheer in Henryetta. Joining him were the Grinch and Cindy Lou, who added playful mischief and laughter to the evening.
The success of the event started well before the first plate was served. A donation drive prior to the dinner called on the community to provide everything from turkeys and hams to casseroles, side dishes, and desserts. The response was overwhelming, with contributions exceeding expectations. It was a testament to the giving spirit of Henryetta residents, who ensured every detail was covered to create a magical experience.
“We asked for 10 turkeys, 10 hams, 50 pounds of potatoes, dinner rolls, and desserts, and the community went above and beyond,” said an organizer. “The generosity was just amazing.”
The event exemplified the true meaning of Christmas—bringing people together, sharing a meal, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. As the night drew to a close, smiles and laughter filled the air, and volunteers began planning for next year’s event, hoping to build on this year’s success.
Henryetta has once again proven that when a community comes together, the result is nothing short of magical. With full bellies and full hearts, attendees left the Civic Center looking forward to the next gathering of this beloved annual tradition.
