Henryetta, Oklahoma, The Briefcase was buzzing with excitement past Saturday as the much-anticipated Oklahoma Pyrex Swap returned to town. Despite the chilly weather, the venue—The Briefcase—was packed with collectors, sellers, and enthusiasts who had been eagerly waiting since last fall to dive back into the world of Pyrex treasures.
Introduced in the early 20th century, Pyrex quickly became a kitchen staple thanks to its durable, heat-resistant glassware. Over the decades, what began as practical cookware evolved into a collectible prized for its vibrant designs and nostalgic charm. Today, Pyrex is celebrated not only for its culinary utility but also for its historical significance, serving as a tangible link to mid-century American design and innovation.
The swap was nothing short of a spectacle. Held at The Briefcase—a locally beloved venue provided courtesy of First Family Credit Union—the event attracted collectors from various states, including Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Texas, Arkansas, and Missouri. Its convenient location and inviting atmosphere made The Briefcase the perfect spot for a day of discovery and camaraderie. Despite the biting cold, long lines formed at the door as attendees eagerly anticipated the opportunity to browse rare finds and complete cherished collections.
The event was proudly sponsored by Bee’s Knees Vintage and First Family Credit Union. Their generous support helped create an environment where community and shared passion for Pyrex were on full display. Synthia Simonds, the owner of Bee’s Knees Vintage, shared her enthusiasm:
