Obituary for Joe Max Peavler

Joe Max Peavler a resident of Henryetta passed this life on April 9, 2026. Born March 31, 1938 in the Salem Community to Louis and Odane (Johnson) Peavler.

A beloved family man and lifelong resident of Henryetta, he graduated from Graham High School before honorably serving his country in the United States Army from July 1965 to July 1967. During his service, he was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas for a year and a half and later spent six months in Germany.

He worked for many years as a crane and bulldozer operator. However, his deep love for cattle and horses led him to work and live on ranches until his retirement. Alongside his wife, he shared that passion with his two sons, and later with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He took great pride in teaching them—if they were willing—how to ride horses and compete, spending countless hours training in the arena.

Joe Max Peavler especially enjoyed calf roping and cherished the many laughs and good times spent at Bill Carl’s Arena. Joe was also an avid outdoorsman who loved squirrel hunting, trapping, and fishing.

He was Baptist by faith and became a Christian later in life with the help of Brother Jack Vance, who came to his home to share the Gospel.

Survived by his wife: Carolyn Peavler
2 Sons: Joe Allen Peavler and wife Lisa. Billy Peavler and wife Kara.
Grandchildren: Amanda Stanton and husband Reggie; Hunter Peavler and wife Natalie; Morgan Peavler; Jaden Peavler; Raylyn Danker and husband Cayle; Raychel Morrison; Tayler and Erick Leef; Kassidy Lee; Brayden Lee; and Kyler Lee.
