The Henryetta Historical Society is excited to announce gifts from the local chapters of the Lions Club and Rotary Club. Both groups held a recent “Show Down Throw Down” kickball game at Nichols Park, and they agreed that funds raised would go to support the Historical Society. Society Board Member Tony Collett stated that “We genuinely appreciate the generous gifts from these two great organizations. Not only do we appreciate the funding, but we had a great time at the kickball game. It was hard fought and down to the wire!” The Lions Club gave $565, while the Rotary Club donated $350.

Society President Brad Sellers said that the money was certainly needed after completion of the recent exterior renovation at the Henryetta Territorial Museum. “The old school house is 120 years old, and exterior wood that has been weathering since before statehood is going to eventually need to be replaced. This was a multi-year project that cost $10,000, but we are real proud of the results. I hope Henryetta folks get a chance to take a look soon.”
