Bixby, OK – Today January 14th on a brisk morning, Patrons Bank held a momentous groundbreaking ceremony for its new location in Bixby, furthering its commitment to community growth and customer-first values. The event was attended by leadership, board members, and the local community, marking the next chapter for a bank with over 107 years of history.
Kyle Clifton, Vice President of Marketing and Communications, opened the event by highlighting Patrons Bank’s rich legacy of service, beginning in 1917 as the First National Bank and Trust Company of Okmulgee. “For over a century, we’ve been a trusted financial partner, evolving alongside the communities we serve,” said Clifton, emphasizing their expansion while remaining deeply rooted in their mission as a community-focused bank.
President and CEO Jared Kable reflected on the journey that led to this milestone. “Five years ago, we established our South Tulsa loan production office, overcoming challenges like the pandemic to bring us to this day,” Cable recounted. He noted that the rebranding to Patrons Bank in 2024 was driven by a desire to strengthen the bank’s identity in the Tulsa metro area. The name change, he assured, did not reflect any ownership changes—only a renewed vision for serving customers as “patrons.”
The new 12,000-square-foot building is designed as more than just a bank—it will serve as a community hub. The two-story structure will feature retail spaces, a spacious courtyard for public events, and practical amenities, such as wide drive-through lanes to accommodate larger vehicles. Plans include safe deposit boxes, a smart ATM, and even an employee fitness area.
Architect Weldon Bowman of W Design praised Cable’s hands-on approach. “Jared came to our team with an innovative vision, emphasizing a modern, welcoming design reminiscent of a refurbished industrial space,” Bowman shared. He added that the building is intended to host events, such as holiday celebrations, to foster community engagement.
Crystal Packer, CEO of the Bixby Chamber of Commerce, welcomed Patrons Bank with enthusiasm. “We’ve seen many financial institutions enter Bixby, but few have invested in the community before even opening their doors,” she said, applauding the bank’s early participation in local initiatives.
Patrons Bank’s new Bixby branch represents a $5 million investment, contributing to the city’s $600 million in ongoing projects. The facility is expected to create new jobs and expand consumer and commercial lending services, further cementing the bank’s role as a financial leader in the region.
As the event concluded with a ceremonial photo session and applause from attendees, Cable expressed gratitude to the board, his team, and the local community for their support. “This building is a testament to what we’ve accomplished together, and there’s more to come,” he said.
Patrons Bank’s new headquarters is projected to open within 10-12 months, with plans for a grand ribbon-cutting ceremony to follow.
